What your utility map records
Meridian uses GNSS field capture to document agreed located or visible utility routes. Before work begins, we confirm the area, assets and deliverable format. KMZ/KML files for Google Earth can be included when agreed in the quote. The records describe the field observations and scope; they do not establish that every buried utility has been found.
Accuracy and future excavation
Position quality depends on satellite reception, corrections, obstructions, field conditions and the locating method. We explain relevant limitations and unresolved observations. Utility documentation is not a boundary survey, a guarantee of subsurface position or depth, or a substitute for current locating and required 811 notifications before future excavation.

Is mapping a substitute for a new locate?
No. Records support planning. Conditions can change, and markings should be checked for the work being performed.
What does the $150 cover?
The $150 rate is an add-on for utilities located or verified by Meridian. Open-trench documentation is a separate service: $250 for a single property, or a $150 multi-property base plus $0.50 per captured linear foot.
