Private locating and Georgia 811
Georgia 811 and private locating address different parts of your project. Required 811 notifications and the public utility marking process remain necessary. Privately owned lines may fall outside the utility owner's marking scope. Coverage depends on the utility and site; a meter is not a universal boundary for every system.
When a supplemental review helps
If markings conflict with site observations, private routes remain uncertain, or planned excavation crosses site-owned utilities, send us the work limits and available records. Meridian can assess detectable infrastructure and agreed existing markings, then explain discrepancies and areas requiring further investigation. We do not issue an 811 clearance, close utility tickets or guarantee that an area is clear.

No. Contact Georgia 811 for public utility marking. Meridian is independent and does not issue an 811 clearance or replace the public utility process.
Does verification guarantee the area is clear?
No. Verification reduces uncertainty within the assessed scope. It does not establish that no other utilities are present.
